I'm a stay at home mom of 2 kids and I love it! (most days) I became addicted to coupons a yearish ago and now there is no turning back.....full price?? that's for suckers :)
We cut our grocery bill in half, built our food storage, and we eat better! It does take some time, but I feel it's well worth it. I've also started trying to find recipes to use with all this newfound storage. We will put up recipes and match them with current coupons and deals. This has been really helpful to my family. I hope it helps yours!
If you ever have suggestions, deals, or recipes to share, please feel free to email me. I would love it!
Life has changed quickly for me the last several months. I worked for years as a professional in human resources, but have taken early retirement for something even more rewarding:
I'm a stay at home mom & wife of one adorable baby boy and a dashing husband!
Being at home has allowed me to work on things that before I didn’t have much time for. Some of those include cooking and baking for my small family and for my loved ones.
I am learning to grow my food storage, be smart about my grocery bill and cook fun, easy meals.
I’m truly excited to become a contributor to Tight Wad In Utah.

Being frugal may be the biggest thing my husband and I have in common. For how much we enjoy saving money, it may come as a surprise that even though we don't have children I'm not employed. When we got married I quit my job as a teacher to stay home and take care of our "family." I think one of the best ways to save money is to make it a full time vocation. This way I can give all my focus to planning and conserving and maximizing our family's resources. I'm enjoying the challenge.
Being frugal, though, is not new to me. I remember one time at work when people were talking about how much they spent on hair cuts. I was still making my Dad do it. I'd go to visit him, and I'd leave with a new hair cut as well as a gallon of milk, courtesy of Mom. That same group of coworkers were always amazed to find out that my latest outfit was actually a find at Savers. Even up to my last day of work I had a reputation for bringing healthy lunches I made myself. Now my husband is the one who gets stares from his coworkers as he munches on his carrot sticks instead of a frozen dinner.
I've enjoyed discovering that sometimes the healthiest approach is often the most frugal. It is my goal to not only save money, but also the other precious resources in my life: time, health, peace of mind, and relationships. Posting on this blog is one way I hope to "save."

I'm a firm believer that it's possible to have the things you want and need without breaking the bank. And with two young children and a recent college grad to take care of, I am always trying to find ways to save money. In the past, my money-saving ways have consisted mostly of using coupons from my Happenings Books. But even with this wonderful arsenal of savings, I wanted to save more.
I had always been leery of coupons on the internet and would try and keep it safe by sticking to only the coupons that came out in the newspaper. That is, until recently when I talked to Audrey about where to find more coupons. "They're EVERYWHERE" she exclaimed! Audrey opened my eyes to other numerous resources besides the newspaper. She assured me that they are in fact "real" and legit. Since then I have come to know with more clarity this wonderful world of "never pay full price." I have always been a big fan of getting free stuff and saving money, I just didn't know how readily accessible it was.
Thank you, Audrey, for guiding me through the vast and exciting land of savings!
It's a fun place to explore! :)
