I'm doing an HP Ink Challenge for the next few weeks and this first week was basically installing 2 identical HP 3510 Deskjet printers. One has HP ink and the other has refill Ink. Have you ever refilled ink before? I didn't even know you could until this. I took my empty cartridges to the Costco down the street and for $22 I got a black and color cartridge refilled in an hour. It was an easy task and easy to install once I got them home. When I turned them in to Costco they asked me how long they have been empty. I didn't really know so they checked right then for me. I guess that matters when refilling, but I'm not sure why.
The refill cartridges also weren't messy at all because I have a little carrier that attaches to it when they are out of the printer. I printed some documents with the refill Ink printer and the HP Ink Printer, and I didn't notice too much of a difference. Both came out great!
The only difference I saw was in a test page. You can't tell from my picture, but on the page I printed with the refill ink you can see faint lines in the black box. The HP ink print left no lines and its just a solid black box.
I received two free HP Deskjet 3510 printers and supplies as well as a gift card to purchase refilled cartridges from HP in order to participate in the Ink Challenge. All opinions and views expressed are my own.
