Sometimes I am amazed how long Barney has been playing. Kids really do take to this purple dinosaur. I love to see the look on my 3 year old's face when the stuffed Barney magically becomes "real". The music is so fun. He loves to dance and shake to Barney music. I love it when the "I Love You" song comes on and he comes to me to hug and kiss me. I also feel that with Diego being an only child, I've learned to play more imaginitively with him.
This recent collection, Barney: Barney Loves You
has three DVDs: We Love Our Family, You can be Anything, and I Love My Friends. Diego has recently taken to hearing the DVDs in Spanish, too! That's not a bad thing for our bilingual kiddo.In "We Love Our Family", Barney and his friends talk about moms, grandparents, cousins. This DVD comes with an interactive game and a cute featurette "Welcome, Cousin Riff".
In "You Can Be Anything", they go through a costume shop to try on different things the kids might want to be when they grow up.
Diego's current favorite though is "I Love My Friends". There are lessons in the DVD from Baby Bop, Cousin Riff and BJ. They learn about keeping promises, making mistakes, helping others not feel left out and expressing feelings. This DVD has a "Book of Hugs" read-a-long story and a Sing-Along version of "If You're Happy and You Know It.". Wow! There sure is a lot in these 144 minutes of DVDs!
