NOW OPEN: The University of Utah Health Care Clinic in South Jordan

I took my daughter last thursday to the Girls Night Out Event at The University of Utah Health Care South Jordan Health Center.  It was such a fun, informative, and surprisingly inspirational night!  We quickly met Channel 2 News Anchor Mary Nickles who was the Key Note Speaker.

Mary was asked to get a mammogram for a segment of the show awhile back.  Later she finds out that she has breast cancer!  She said that Utah has the highest percentage of women who do not get mammograms and noted that if you have boobs you are at risk. :)

Mary was very inspiring as she told us about her fight with cancer and how she had so much support from the community.  I was also amazed by her attitude about it all.  amazing..  If you're interested she created a blog about her experience at My Journey Through Breast Cancer.

The new facility is beautiful and doesn't feel (or smell) hospital like at all.  If I lived closer this would definitely be a place I would frequent.   With all of the services they provide this could be a one-stop shop kind of place!  While at the event I visited their Dermatology booth and I got to look at myself with a black light to see how bad my sun damage is.  Luckily I faired well.  Sunscreen everyday for me baby!!  They told me that most sun damage is done before you turn 18!

Here is a list of services they provide:

Winner I have carried my little boy in a baby carrier since he was born. I love the convenience of strapping him in and not worrying about the hassle of a bulky stroller. It's also a comfort to hold my little guy close and safe. When I had the chance to review the ERGObaby carrier, I was thrilled to try something that could extend my baby wearing days. My first test was a true one...Costco. I admit that I didn't really look at the directions when I put the carrier on in the parking lot. But I didn't need to! After one look at a picture in the user manual, I strapped my 20 pound boy in, placed my little girl in the shopping cart, and started on my way through the aisles of Costco. I immediately noticed that the carrier more evenly distributed my son's weight than my normal carrier and held my boy high so my legs weren't bumping into his. This made it significantly easier to tote him around the store. Indeed my normal trips to Costco are exhausting. But
