Tight Wad in Utah

December 1st is almost here so if you need/want a Christmas Advent Calendar, now is the time to do it!  This is what I did with my remedial craft skills and limited supplies..lol Stuff I used from around my house: A piece of a cardboard box Christmas wrapping paper tape scissors Christmas Gift Bag (the pocket/picture of Santa) Doesn't get easier than that :)  I had some snowman wrapping paper from last year.  I just cut out some snowmen and taped them on as pockets so I could add candy, notes, or whatever to each day.  One caution about a paper pockets is that you can't put any loose candy in it that the kids have to fish around for, cuz it will break for sure!  Or just keep some extra tape handy...lol For the pockets I just folded in the sides a bit and taped them down.  Can this be done a fancier way?  I'm sure of it!  But I did this by myself and didn't have my craft/sewing buddies there to help me or do it for me (lol). Winner Vinyl Decals are so much fun!!  We just moved into a new house and all of our walls are pretty drab.  I've just now started putting pictures up and it helps A LOT. What also helped was putting up this awesome train wall decal!!  My son's mouth actually dropped open when he saw it.  He still goes up to it and lovingly strokes it..lol Vinyl Disorder has a HUGE selection (over 70,000) on wall stickers and you can choose what color you want it in!  It's a little hard to tell in the above picture but I chose green.  So now of course my son thinks Percy is on his wall :):) Yes, that is a blanket in the window...curtains are next on the list :) The vinyl decal was super easy to install.  I first removed the back to show the sticky part, placed it on the wall where I wanted it, then used the plastic doohickey it came with to press it down.  Lastly you just pull the top layer of paper off slowly.  If you want it more precise you can use tape to secure it.
