Flour Lawn Stars for the 4th of July!

I posted about what to do with expired flour last year and was reminded about flour lawn stars!  I first saw the idea from Pink and Green Mama (a great blog to check out!)

I cut out a star template out of an old box with a box cutter.  I could have ended the activity right there with how much fun my kids were having with the cardboard stars. :)

Then you lay down the template and water the area.  After it's wet you can sift flour to make your star.  I found that it took at least a cup of flour per star.  But if you have older, more controlled kids doing it you could probably get away with a lot less.  Plus we use a push mower (non-motor) so our grass stays a bit longer than most :):)

Yes, I used the edit feature to green up my lawn a bit...lol
