He has needed frequent blood transfusion due to this blood disorder. We are in the clinic every 4-6 weeks needing blood. So far he has needed 22 transfusions and will continue needing them until he is old enough to have his spleen removed (age 5) We are estimating that he will have had 50 plus transfusions by that time. So for his birthday we thought we would help give back. And we are having a Blood Drive! This is open for those 16 and older. (16&17 years old can donate with parents consent!)   Winner I thought it was funny that my daughter didn't immediately want to watch Thomas & Friends: Day of the Diesels .  My son did though so she sat down, watched it and now she asks for this movie repeatedly!  I like this movie too.  It has a fun, exciting story that has more of a "movie" feel than most children's movies.  The characters are interesting and relatable.  My children also have more of an interest in trains now. :)  This was my first time seeing a Thomas & Friends movie and I will now be looking into others. Winner Beautiful, modern affordable, and handmade: Retro Modern Projects . I first discovered this awesome shop on Etsy, one of my favorite sites. I was impressed immediately with Stacy, the shop owners unique talent and philosophy. Stacy creates Linocut block prints by hand carving and hand pulling the print. She strives to reuse and recycle everyday items into art. I love that some of the prints have coffee grounds in them. How cool is that! Retro Modern Projects art is very versatile. I could find a piece of work for every room in my house. Stacy sent me 2 pictures from the same series "Spring Buds." Like all of her work that I viewed, they were both artist signed, numbered, and dated. I hung them in my living room and absolutely LOVE them! Winner Angelina Ballerina The Shining Star Trophy - The Movie is a fun show!  My daughter sings and dances along to the songs and I love to see that!  This is actually the movie that made her want to learn how to rewind dvds.  She'd sing and dance to the song then rewind..lol  That lasted for a half hour!  I also love how they refer to San FranCHEESEco.  cracks me up...
