GIVEAWAY: $40 Wood Expressions GC! Aimee's Adventures in Home Decor #7 (US) -CLOSED-

Winner

I have discovered the beauty and art of handmade wood creations! Unfortunately I don't have a wood creating skill, but Wood Expressions does! A husband and wife duo, Reginald and Sheila have been working together for years, turning a peice of wood into a treasure that will beautify your home and food.

I was able to review a super cute cupcake/candle holder.  I like it as a candle holder personally when it is all by itself.  I think if you had several for a party the pedestals would add some class as well as dimension to your table setting.

Each piece of work by Wood Expressions is unique being handmade. At the  Wood Expressions Etsy shop you can also find bowls, cupcake/cake stands, plates/platters/trays, vases, candle holders, potpourri bowls, mirrors, boxes etc.

Find something for yourself or a loved one by winning our $40 GC giveaway by Wood Expressons!!! :) US only

Please fill out form to enter:

Giveaway will end Tuesday, December 20th at midnight MST. Winner will be chosen by Random.org.  I received above item for free for review purposes.  All opinions are my own. No other compensation was received.  Email addresses will be deleted after giveaway. Your privacy is important. US residents only.

Hiya! :) Well, I really can't think of any toys (although maybe those periodic table blocks might count, not sure where I saw those now), but at their site, picking something you didn't show, really liked the Wooden Oak Pedestal. :)

Gardner Village Series: Country Furniture & Gifts

Gardner Village is a local treasure. If you've never found your way down there, October is the month to do it!  The shop owners love Halloween! The village becomes a witch village and many times, shop owners will even dress up.   On my most recent trip to Gardner Village, I stopped in at Country Furniture & Gifts which is a store very ready for Halloween.

The store is located in part of the old restored flour mill built in 1877 by Archibald Gardner in West Jordan, Utah.  The store is very family oriented and houses many built-to-last items such as dining room tables, sofas, beds and chairs.  They are also famous for their rug room where many of their rugs are still USA made. As they say, "A rug makes a huge impact for a minimum investment to any room."

The home accessories and giftware are amazing!  They have all sorts of decor for all sorts of personalities. Please be sure to pay them a visit.  It's worth it!

What to do with Apricots: Homemade Fruit Leather

If you have access to an apricot tree I highly suggest making fruit leather.  This was my first time attempting any kind of dried fruit and it turned out heavenly!

Apricot Fruit Leather

cinnamon
nutmeg
lemon juice
1/2 c water

Add apricots and a 1/2 c of water to a saucepan on low heat.
Cover, stirring occasionally for 10 minutes.
Add sugar 1 T at a time till it tastes good
Add lemon juice 1 tsp at a time to taste
Add cinnamon to taste
Add nutmeg to taste - I did a lot of tastin'!! :)
Simmer for 5 minutes on low heat until thickened a bit

In batches add mixture to a blender
Blend until smooooooooth
Prepare baking sheet: line with microwaveable safe plastic wrap
Add mixture to sheet about 1/4 inch thick

MAKE SURE the plastic wrap doesn't fold over mixture and that it doesn't touch your oven
Bake at 140 degrees for 8 to 12 hours - fruit leathe…
