GIVEAWAY and Review: Turn Me On Art! Aimee's Adventures in Home Decor #3 (US/CAN) -CLOSED-

I have found a new love: Turn me on Art's super cool light and electrical plates.  I have never thought of dressing up my light switches till I saw Turn Me On Art on Etsy.

Her designs go from the simple, classical to more modern.  She even has some that are fable themed, as well some new ones for Halloween!  I am tempted to get some of them! I love this one for Halloween.

So as you have seen previously, I painted my living room and wanted to add a little more "spice" to my wall.

Who knew that just changing your light switch plate could add so much fun to a room.  My husband, who I thought might not like the change, absolutely loved it.  In fact he kept commenting on how much he liked it at random times through out the day! lol! :)

You have a keeper here with Turn Me On Art.  I am inspired to try some new styles and perhaps "switch" things up a little more often.  Ha, pun not intended, but I like it! ;)

You can WIN a light or electrical plate of YOUR CHOICE! US/CAN Only

Here's how to win:

1. Go to Turn Me On Art on Etsy then comment back here and share with us your favorite plate.

Gardner Village Series: Country Furniture & Gifts

Gardner Village is a local treasure. If you've never found your way down there, October is the month to do it!  The shop owners love Halloween! The village becomes a witch village and many times, shop owners will even dress up.   On my most recent trip to Gardner Village, I stopped in at Country Furniture & Gifts which is a store very ready for Halloween.

The store is located in part of the old restored flour mill built in 1877 by Archibald Gardner in West Jordan, Utah.  The store is very family oriented and houses many built-to-last items such as dining room tables, sofas, beds and chairs.  They are also famous for their rug room where many of their rugs are still USA made. As they say, "A rug makes a huge impact for a minimum investment to any room."

The home accessories and giftware are amazing!  They have all sorts of decor for all sorts of personalities. Please be sure to pay them a visit.  It's worth it!

What to do with Apricots: Homemade Fruit Leather

If you have access to an apricot tree I highly suggest making fruit leather.  This was my first time attempting any kind of dried fruit and it turned out heavenly!
Plus my house smelled great all day!!  And if you read a recent post you can see why that would be

Apricot Fruit Leather

4 cups chopped apricots
lemon juice
1/2 c water

Add apricots and a 1/2 c of water to a saucepan on low heat.
Cover, stirring occasionally for 10 minutes.
Add sugar 1 T at a time till it tastes good
Add lemon juice 1 tsp at a time to taste
Add cinnamon to taste
Add nutmeg to taste - I did a lot of tastin'!! :)
Simmer for 5 minutes on low heat until thickened a bit

In batches add mixture to a blender
Blend until smooooooooth
Prepare baking sheet: line with microwaveable safe plastic wrap
Add mixture to sheet about 1/4 inch thick

MAKE SURE the plastic wrap doesn't fold over mixture and that it doesn't touch your oven
