Jacob was diagnosed with HS (Hereditary spherocytosis) at 2 weeks old. He has needed frequent blood transfusion due to this blood disorder. We are in the clinic every 4-6 weeks needing blood. So far he has needed 22 transfusions and will continue needing them until he is old enough to have his spleen removed (age 5) We are estimating that he will have had 50 plus transfusions by that time.

So for his birthday we thought we would help give back. And we are having a Blood Drive! This is open for those 16 and older. (16&17 years old can donate with parents consent!) Its an open house so you can just come and go between 3 and 8. please spread the word, if you can't donate find someone that can for you!! Its a great cause. Winner I have carried my little boy in a baby carrier since he was born. I love the convenience of strapping him in and not worrying about the hassle of a bulky stroller.
