GIVEAWAY: My Blue Bumbershoot! Hands Free Stroller Umbrella! (US) -CLOSED-

Winner

This is a pretty cool idea!  Most strollers require you push them with two hands, so if it's raining.....hope you didn't do your hair. :)  With My Blue Bumbershoot you have an umbrella that easily clasps onto your stroller leaving your hands free to push and to point at wet people..lol I'm kidding.

I took my kids to swimming class today and it was raining off and on.  We were actually surprised class wasn't canceled.  Anyway we were able to walk there dry and happy because of the umbrella.  You can also control the tilt on it.  I could cover my daughter as well!

As always I was worried about attaching it to the stroller, so I was going to let my husband try it out first and then have him show me how.  But I couldn't wait so I did it myself and it couldn't have been easier. You just unscrew one end, attach to your stroller and then screw it back so that it's secure.  Seriously easy.  You can also watch a quick video on how to attach it.

Another thing I love about My Blue Bumbershoot is that the umbrella is clear!  I had it tilted forward to cover my daughter and I could still see what was going on around me.  Which is important if your crossing streets. :)  No ducking and bobbing was necessary!

If it stops raining you can close the umbrella and leave it straight up,  you can turn it down, on a diagonal, or easily take it off completely.  I took mine off while holding a diaper bag and watching my kids out of one eye. :):)  easy.  My Blue Bumbershoot sells for $49.99 and if you ever need to replace the umbrella you can get it for $15.

My Blue Bumbershoot fits most types of strollers.  You can also attach it to a walker or wheelchair!!

Freezer Homemade Fries & Sauce

I LOVE fries!  I would make them more but it seems like a hassle when I'm trying to get dinner ready, kids are screaming, and I'm trying to dodge cheerios on the floor.

Then along came freezer fries and my life is far richer (lol)....not the ones you buy at the store that kinda look potato-like, but the real things.  They are also MUCH cheaper.   So instead of letting your potatoes sit around, and hoping that you remember to use them, you can make fries....yum....

To see my post on what to do with a 10lb. bag of potatoes go to The Coupon Project.

First wash and scrub potatoes ( I don't peel because I think it's miserable work)
Cut into 1/2 inch fries
Toss with oil (I usually use Canola)
Add salt and a little sugar (makes them crispy)

Place them on a baking sheets and bake at 475 for 20 minutes (they will only be half cooked)
After baking, let them cool on paper or dish towels Put in freezer on sheet (I have a small freezer so I used pie tins) Let them freeze solid (ab…

Gardner Village Series: Country Furniture & Gifts

Gardner Village is a local treasure. If you've never found your way down there, October is the month to do it!  The shop owners love Halloween! The village becomes a witch village and many times, shop owners will even dress up.   On my most recent trip to Gardner Village, I stopped in at Country Furniture & Gifts which is a store very ready for Halloween.

The store is located in part of the old restored flour mill built in 1877 by Archibald Gardner in West Jordan, Utah.  The store is very family oriented and houses many built-to-last items such as dining room tables, sofas, beds and chairs.  They are also famous for their rug room where many of their rugs are still USA made. As they say, "A rug makes a huge impact for a minimum investment to any room."

The home accessories and giftware are amazing!  They have all sorts of decor for all sorts of personalities. Please be sure to pay them a visit.  It's worth it!
