Stinky yoga mats are the worst! Just ask my husband! He begs me to put away my mat after my Bikram yoga classes! lol! Well, I have a new solution; Jo-Sha wipes! With Jo-Sha wipes, not only does my mat turn from disgusting to smelling divine, but the surface is also cleaned nicely. Made with natural ingredients including wonderful smelling essential oils, these wipes naturally disinfect. Jo-Sha wipes can be used to wipe off your mat, workout equipment, your hands and feet (I love the tingle on my feet with the peppermint), and any other surface you want to help boost your mood. When I got these, I wiped down several surfaces in my home. So pleasant! It's nice to know they are safe for you and most surfaces you apply it to.
"Jo-Sha wipes contain no alcohol or harsh chemicals, so they won't dry out skin or other surfaces and will actually preserve the life of your equipment. Jo-Sha wipes dry quickly and evaporate completely, leaving no slippery residue."
I loved the scents I was given to try; eucalyptus, peppermint, tea tree, and tangerine. Lavendar is also available. I can honestly say I loved them all, but have a tie between eucalyptus and peppermint. It was so nice to be in my yoga class and put my face next to my mat and have a nice hint of amazing! But don't use it right after class in Bikram yoga; people are in savasana/ final resting pose for quite a while. I made this mistake. I was so excited to use these I wasn't thinking! Opps! ;) Other yoga classes after coming out of savasana should be great! I now take my mat home after Bikram yoga and wipe off both sides. Sweet relief! I use about 1-2 wipes each time. The wipes are very soft so you don't have to worry about scratching any sensitive surfaces.
Jo-Sha wipes are so easy to tote around. I like the idea of using these for my daily workouts or when I am traveling. These would be great for rented mats, a trip to the gym, freshening up after spa treatments etc. They help to "evoke a sense of calm and centering to the body and mind." Smelling these scents in class help me to feel more positive, helping to eliminate those feelings of "I can't." It also mentions on the Jo-Sha website that these wipes can be used in cars. I haven't done that yet, but will! As a mom I could definetly use some help to calm and center myself in the car! ;)
