I priced these out awhile ago and found a good deal online at Vitacost. Right now you can get 5% off New Chapter vitamins using source code WE101NWC. Also if you go through Shop At Home first you'll get 5% back and $5 if your new (pays for shipping!). Code good until 2/6/10.
I don't know why I didn't think of this a long time ago. Making granola is a HUGE money saver at my house. We go through the stuff like it's diapers! I made this yesterday and I happened to have all the ingredients in our storage...what luck! It is SUPER easy. Here's the recipe I used. Let me know if you have a good one.
I won 10 Swagbucks today! That's how I knew it was Friday. :) I've earned $20 in Amazon gift cards so far (since last month). To me that means free baby wipes and lots of Optimum Zen Cereal. :)
You can sign up here, it's free. Here are more details.
My total started at $85.37 and then I handed over my thick wad of coupons. The cashier took them happily, why shouldn't she, it's not like she works on commission.
My total was $38.36 for 38 items! Which is 67% in savings.
Here are some coupons online that will help you get Ritz for .99 and Sobe Life water for free (if you buy atleast 2). I printed the coupon twice and got all 4 for free!
Also go here and here for details and HERE for a complete list.
I've been doing this for awhile now with no success until the other day... I won a jumbo pack of diapers!! You can find codes on Huggies diapers and wipes (not all have them) they are inside diaper packages and outside wipes. They look like this:
All you do is sign up here and enter your codes. With your codes you get points, you can spend them on the Instant Win games and win diapers or gift cards. They say your more likely to win if you play early in the morning or late at night when less people are playing. So good luck! Let me know if you win anything!

This is what we got this week that went towards storage. Our total for groceries and toiletries was $218.66 for a 5 week month. I thought with that total we were taking too much from our food storage and not putting enough in, but after reminding myself what we've been adding I think we're good!
Smith's is having a Big Game Greats sale starting 1/27 until 2/2. When you buy 10 participating items you get $5.00. Basically .50 off each item. Most items also have coupons available online so even if you don't get the paper (or 2 or 3) you can still save some money.
Prices listed are effective when you buy 10 (mix & match). There are tons of different scenarios. Leave a comment if you have a good one!

Since I've been actively looking for deals and spending less money, I've bought things for cheap or gotten stuff for free that Im now putting in a Gift Box. So when holidays and birthday's roll around I'm prepared. Because what usually happens is I wait until the last minute and end up buying something lame and not on sale. This is what I have so far and it is included in my $218 total. I have no extra budget for gifts yet this year....maybe with this I won't need one.
Swagbucks and Shop At Home are helping as well. Both are free sites that reward you for doing what you already do online. Since last month I've earned $15 in Amazon gift cards and $23.22 with little to no extra effort. It's not a mortgage payment, but it eliminates a need for a gift or Christmas budget :)
$218.66 So I didn't quite make the $200 goal, but considering we used to spend anywhere from $500-$700 on groceries and toiletries, Im calling this a victory :) I think we even ate better this month....lol...
Planning is really making a difference. My only complaint is that we are probably using as much food storage as we're adding and I LOVE, love, love Costco. So if I can't fit that into a 4 week month (this month was 5) I may have to adjust the number.
And I know its not the 31st yet, but I just did the shopping for the week so Im pretty sure we're done till then.
