Yesterday was "okay, we really need to clean out the fridge and use up some things before they go bad" day. One of those items were some ripe bananas on my counter. Usually, I'll just make them into banana bread (my kids LOVE it!) But, lately, it seems like that's all I do and my freezer is STOCKED with banana bread! So, I decided to try a couple new things - a smoothie and a banana chocolate chip dessert. Here is the recipe I used for the smoothie:
1 ripe banana
several cut up strawberries (yes, I still had some of these that needed to be used, too)
2 4 oz yogurts (I had Berry Blend, some of the Dannon Activia on sale from this last week)
1/2-3/4 c. milk
Put in blender and blend till smooth. Of course, you can add anything you want to the smoothie. I just used what was on hand. But, it turned out SO YUMMY!!! It made about 2 glasses worth.
